I’ve been keeping pretty busy since the pageants, especially right now as we await the soon arrival of another bouncy baby boy! He’s due October 4^th and will join big brothers Hudson (9), Graham (7), Lake (5), and Haddon (4). I also work from home with Daisy Blue Naturals and now have about 100 people on my team working with me. I love the flexibility as I need it with all the boys and since we home school. I recently am excited to have helped create the charitable giving program for our company which supports women and children in Uganda, Africa through proceeds from one of our newest natural soaps.

MISS MINNESOTA 2003

Less than a month after handing over my Miss Minnesota title, I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for a year-long church internship. I can honestly say it's a wonderful city that treated me well. I came back to St. Paul to finish my Master of Divinity degree at Luther Seminary.

In January 2006 I met Chris Vitko. By June we were engaged, and in October we were married! I graduated from seminary in December, and in January 2007 Chris and I headed overseas.

I received the Graduate Preaching FellowShip, which I used to live in Rome and London while traveling across Europe. Not a bad first year of marriage!!

Today, we're back in St. Paul where I'm enjoying life as a pastor and writer. I love playing with my cats and dog, scrapbooking, hiking, trying to make our house a home, and judging pageants. Life's good!!

Preliminary Swimsuit Winner - Miss America 1979

Susan is currently living in Ohio with her husband of 24 years, Omar, and their two children, Jenna and Paul. She has spent several years as a teacher, working with elementary, high school and college-aged students. Currently she is managing her husbnad's medical practice where he is a solo OB/GYN. Their two children both attend Ohio State University in Columbus.

They enjoy spending time together as a family, whether it be playing tennis, biking, swimming, horseback riding, gardening or just "hanging around."

Miss Coon Rapids Began.......
The Miss Coon Rapids Pageant began as a community service project of the Coon Rapids Jaycees, it has always been a part of the Coon Rapids Snowflake Days celebration.

The Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship Pageant was incorporated in 1986. We have always had a strong program thanks to our dedicated volunteers, many who have been with our program for over 20 years! We have many new volunteers with our program this year who are very excited to produce the best Miss Coon Rapids Scholarship program ever!!
